This all started when Sue's Dad, Bob Freda, decided to leave NJ, rejoin his family, and retire in Arizona. He found the perfect space, in the perfect place. His legacy of adventure, enjoying life and his family was the catalyst for Freda's Casita.

We're Dan and Sue and we're so grateful and appreciative of our wonderful guests. We've been hosting for over 3 years and the desert southwest has been our home for 20 plus years. We've travelled all over the world, but we're always thankful to return to our sunny skies, saguaros and mountain landscapes.

Our passion is making our guests feel cared for, by respecting their time, privacy and their needs. We enjoy sharing the beauty of what makes our desert oasis so unique. Whether it's a hike at sunset, a swim in our refreshing pool, a nuzzle from a donkey, or a campfire under the stars, our goal is to create memories that will last a life time. The Space

Relaxed, stylish and homey with lots of natural textures and the muted tones of the desert southwest. Beautiful Queen bed ensuite with walk-in closet and designated work space. You'll enjoy views of the courtyard and desert. An added bonus will be the large majestic saguaro right outside your window. North Phoenix is a beautiful spot for sight-seeing fun.

Everything is here to deliver an uncomplicated, relaxing stay at our vacation rental. You'll begin to unwind the moment you walk through the door. Details matter, and we've thought about every detail of your stay. A fully stocked kitchen, laundry and bath. We've added drink coolers, walking sticks, even umbrellas and a portable speaker for poolside.

Close enough but far away.

New River, AZ is tucked away at the far end of north Phoenix. With Gavilan Peak as our backdrop, we boast about our small town feel. We're close enough for sushi, burgers, and some great places for fun, bull-riding and music. Not enough excitement? Rent a jet-ski at Lake Pleasant or spend the morning on a hot-air balloon.

Experience the magic of he desert.

Quail call to each other in the morning. Coyotes howl in the distance as the sun sets. The majestic saguaro stands tall and proud, as the wildflowers explode with color in spring. There's nothing like the smell of the creosote and mesquite after monsoon rains.
